5 INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS DELIVER RELIABLE AND EASY USE

Guardian System:

The Guardian System uses four bright LED lights to provide continual performance feedback through a series of codes. No matter what, you’ll know your lift is ready, how it’s operating, if batteries are low, or when maintenance is due.

Use the simple-to-follow guide on the Highlander II to determine the vertical platform lift’s health status.

  • SmartSense

The SmartSense PC board monitors the motor temperature, cycle count, battery status, and other features to help prevent issues that could affect the Highlander II’s performance.

  • Steady Drive

Harmar’s new VPL offers a smoother ride, thanks to the Steady Drive’s high lead ACME screw. As the VPL moves, the screw rotates 75% slower than the competition, leading to significantly reduced vibration as you ride. This reliable gear replaces traditional pulleys, which often means fewer maintenance visits.

  • ReadyUPS

Call in for backup in the event of a power outage! The ReadyUPS is an optional “Battery Backup” system known as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). This power supply automatically activates in the event of a power outage, providing a minimum of 5 complete up-down cycles.

  • Big Blue Paddle

Small switches can be hard to find and operate. While remaining in your mobility device, you can operate the lift by pressing the easy-to-use Big Blue Paddle to enjoy a stable, smooth, and quiet ride. Please note that this feature is not available on three-stop units.

Frequently asked questions

  • A vertical platform lift, often referred to as a VPL, is a mobility solution designed to transport individuals in wheelchairs or with limited mobility vertically between different levels. Unlike stairlifts, VPLs provide a platform for the user to roll onto, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor use in residential and commercial settings.

  • The required space for a vertical platform lift depends on the specific model and the height it needs to cover. Generally, a footprint of approximately five by five feet is a good starting point, but some models may require more or less space. An onsite assessment is the best way to determine the exact space requirements.

  • Vertical platform lifts accommodate a range of heights, typically up to 14 feet for residential models, making them suitable for accessing different levels within a home or small commercial building. Some commercial-grade lifts are able to accommodate greater heights, but it's essential to consult with a provider for specifics based on your needs.

  • Most residential vertical platform lifts require a standard electrical outlet (110V) for power. Commercial lifts or those with higher lifting capabilities may have different requirements. It's important to discuss power needs and options with your lift provider during the planning stage.
